Catalyst Charter
Charter 10-6-09
Founding Principle: Catalyst was created for the sole purpose of bringing old time friends together to share what we are passionate about - Gaming. We spent alot of cash, said goodbye to new friends and left solid raiding guilds to be a part of this guild. Suffice it to say, we are committed to making Catalyst an established progression raiding guild.
Catalyst is a serious raiding guild whose emphasis is on having fun, with a high-focus on PVE raiding. Loot distribution is done in a fair and equitable manner with the goal of increasing our PVE success. Talent specializations and gear choice should reflect a commitment to maximizing PVE raiding efficiency. Guild leaders have initial say as to what spec will be appropriate for raiding. Generally speaking we will not dictate your spec, but if you suck and changing it may help you not suck... you may get some unwelcome advice.
What Catalyst has to offer
1) a solid structure of ethical and forward moving raiding
2) a guild bank that pays for repairs during raids
3) a guild bank that offers items required to raid effectively at a 50% discount to raider ranked members
4) a solid tried and tested EP/GP system for loot distribution in the fairest way possible
5) leadership that knows what they are doing
6) quality people
7) open door policy
8) drama free atmosphere
Forum Participation All members are expected to monitor the guild forums on a daily basis and to participate in them. If you are the type of player who is going to join the guild and never once read the forums or check out optimal gear/talent specs, leave the guild immediately, we don't need you.
Kickable Offenses Raiding outside of the guild - Absolutely no 25man content should be done outside of the guild. Catalyst is a 25man raiding guild, we are focused on maintaining a solid amount of players to fulfill this task. 10mans are do as you will, however, the guild does put together these runs on Fridays and Saturdays depending on desire. You will most likely clear a raid instance if you go with your guild brothers and sisters over a pug group.
"A guild that raids together, grows together"
Tarnishing the Guilds name - All guild members are expected to follow the WoW CoC and ToS. Catalyst does not tolerate hacking or anything of the sort in any way. If your account gets banned for hacking and you disappear, chances are you will be removed from the guild. Also, be aware that things you do reflect on the guild as a whole. Try to show good manners when interacting with non-guild members around... if you have to fake it even. Ninja looting, lying, or just down right being untrustworthy and shady even if we don't catch you in it will many times make membership questionable. We expect those who wear the tabard to know they represent the guild in their actions and reflect the ethics of the guild at all times. Keeping the Catalyst name untarnished will supercede tenure in public issues.
Extreme Vulgarity - As we are an adult guild, vulgarity is allowed in both guild and raid chat, but please stay away from topics such as pedophilia, rape, politics and racism/sexism. Use your head, if you think it might offend someone... it probably will. If you're asked to stop, don't ask why, instead apologize and take whatever you're talking about to cause someone to be offended enough to ask you to stop into tells with the other individual you were conversing with.
Harassment and Drama - Guild members are expected to not harass fellow WoW players in any way. Competitive contesting of spawns is not harassment and is fully endorsed. If you have a flare for the dramatic or defying the "establishment" please bring this up immediately so we can show you the way out.
Leaving the guild - There comes times in our playing together that we do not see eye to eye on certain things and this forces some to consider leaving the guild to go elsewhere. You certainly have the right to leave, but please think twice before you do so because once you've left the guild, you've left the guild. The End. We will not reinvite for any reason. This rule is strictly enforced. The idea is that we are here to build friendships as well as train and put effort into each other. When an individual leaves, we, the guild, loses the time, the effort and the sense of togetherness we put into helping, explaining and making solid raiders out of our people. In a sense, each individual that wears the Catalyst tag is an investment toward the future of our family our guild and our goals, while you have every right to take that investment and place it elsewhere, we do not see a reason to allow you to use us again.
