Raiding Rules
1) Make it shine! - The gear you receive through-out your tenure in Catalyst are considered gifts, whether or not you have the PR to attain these items it is because the officers decided to give them to you. We try very hard to be considerate to our members and we try very hard to follow the rules of "the highest PR wins the gear". We insist that all the gear attained in our runs (as well as those you did on your own prior to joining Catalyst) be enchanted and gemmed with the best possible enchants and gems. Lack of "polishing" that piece of gear you won through PR will mean that we, the officers, will start disregarding the PR point system and give the gear YOU would have won to the next person in the PR list that has fully taken the time and effort into making their gear pieces shine. To us and probably most of the raiding personnel in Catalyst, misenchanted, unenchanted, misgemmed or ungemmed gear is considered disrespectful. Please show us the respect we show you and enchant/gem your gear correctly and properly.
2) Knowing is half the battle! - Catalyst raids 3 nights a week, for 3hours each day. Most if not all of us, have 9-5 jobs come home to families and pets and look forward to fully completing raids and downing bosses. We have very little time to worry about who didn't do the homework they needed to do in order to help them down a boss. This causes friction in the guild, between those that want to progress and those that want to ride on the shoulders of those that want to progress. Catalyst has no time to carry individuals, it is up to YOU to show that you are ready to raid and up to YOU to understand your role. We always give a brief reminder to our raiders right before the pull on what we expect and what you should expect, but each individual in our guild is required to understand the fights.
3) Wheres the beef?! - You can't make a hamburger helper meal, without the hamburger, neither can you raid with your gear broken and unrepaired or your spell materials locked away in your closet. Come prepared to our raids with food, water. Get your gear repaired and ready and bring those sacred candles, seeds, symbols, etc.
4) Silence is golden - Catalyst does its raids with the notion that its for our enjoyment. We talk on vent to tease, bicker, whine and share stories to make each other laugh. But, when its time to down a boss, we expect everyone to respect each other and be silent. The only individuals that need to speak are the tanks, the raid leader and whomever else he has appointed to talk. The faster we accomplish our goal, the faster we can get back to calling each other names.
5) We're givin' her all she's got, Captain! - Catalyst is a progression raiding guild, we expect to down bosses and move on to the next event in a fast and efficient manner. Sometimes our 25man raid doesnt have what it takes and we will be forced to improvise and swap people around to allow us the traction needed to move forward. We apologize in advance, but to appease the hunger in the other 24 other people in the guild wanting to go on, we each have to take one for the team from time to time.
6) Where's Waldo? - Being at your keyboard, ready to take down a boss or even the trash is key to our success. Constantly leaving, whether its announced or unannounced slows our forward momentum and reduces our time to play together. During a 3 hour raid, we give a 5-10minute break in between to give people the time needed to move, stretch, use the bathroom, get some food and drinks and then return for more boss killin action. We understand that emergencies come up out of the blue, but unless you work in the ER, they should be pretty rare. Use your time and our time wisely. Please keep your AFKing to a minimum. If your parents, wife(s), boyfriend(s) or girlfriend(s) are yanking your chain. perhaps you should rethink your raid availablity
7) fuck me? FUCK YOU! - Civility and patients goes a long way in both enduring through a raid and sustaining your tenure in Catalyst. Most if not all of us are adults, we understand that fuck ups happen and sometimes its unavoidable. We also don't play the game to be ridiculed, put down or stepped on. We value everyone's input and advice but be civil when giving your opinion or assistance. Constantly cussing or yelling or even being degrading and condescending at individuals will get you a swift kick to the curb and out the guild. We don't want that and neither do you. But, this doesnt mean that you should slack off or act foolishly in the guild or especially in a raid. While we try our best to overlook RNG faults, getting killed over and over again by the same thing causing us to lose your damage/heal/tanking skills boss after boss ensures that we're just that much closer to wiping. If you cant fix it, rest assured, we will.
8) The early bird got the worm, but you got a raid spot! - Catalyst prizes itself on starting as close to our posted start times as possible, we even give a bonus for being on-time, ready to go to down some bosses and get some perpol loots. Individuals that are on early will usually get a raid spot and those that come late, usually sit on the bench. Bear in mind however, that the raid does come first and that means even if you are early, if the raid needs another healer, tank or dps and you cannot fulfill that role in a mainspec capacity, you will be asked to step down to let the proper class type in to complete our raid make-up
